Bees are important to our environment, helping cross pollination and creating honey. Having a bee-friendly garden supports bee life, besides it’s only fair to return the favor. There are many varieties of perennial, annual, and biannual flowering plants. Bees are naturally attracted to the nectar in flowers, and there is a plethora of bee-friendly garden plants that will be good for your garden.


Lavender



It is a perennial flowering herb whose fragrance attracts bees and receives admiration from humans as well. After sprouting it requires little tendering and thus is ideal for having in your garden. Bees love to feed on their nectar and in return bees help in pollination thus it’s a symbiotic relationship. It also serves as a mosquito repellant and thus is good for having around.


Crocus



This fragrant perennial flower is a good fit for a bee-friendly garden owing to its vibrantly colored flowers. Blooming during early spring, they provide rich pollen for bees to feed on making it a fantastic pick. This is because after winter bees are usually hungry since they have exhausted all the food that they had collected during winter.


Sunflowers



They are termed as one of the most beautiful flowers in the world. Their bright yellow petals and black centers are excellent bee attractions providing nectar for the bees. These flowers blossom where there is enough sunlight and ample room making for a good choice in a bee-friendly garden.


Foxglove



This particular flower species is a favorite for both bumblebees and honeybees. Its tubular shape ensures that bees get coated in pollen as they dive in for the nectar within the flower. They are a biennial variety thus take your time to plan strategically when to best plant them. However, they are toxic to dogs and cats hence take care not to bring your pets too close.


Rosemary



The plant is quite popular with bees as it is with humans. It is an early bloomer and it’s perfect for bees. Due to its robust growth, it should be enough for bees and for your household use.
